Meet The Chef & The Host

I, Jerry, despite my Anglo name…:-) was raised in what is, politically, Italian-speaking Switzerland; however, for culinary purposes it is Northern Italy. I have owned several B&B's in Spain, trained at Glion Hotel School yet perhaps more importantly, I am an unashamed foodie, delicious meals are one of the main ingredients of my life…

Gordana, who might decide to be my helper at times, and who lately mumbled something about starting to make "creative Italian" in the near future with her own menu here at the underground Trattoria, comes originally from Croatia, where, because of the long-lasting Venetian Republic’s presence, North-Italian food is part of the cultural tradition throughout the Coast, from Koper/Capodistria (Istria) to Dubrovnik/Ragusa di Dalmazia (Dalmatia). So, you can count on us to make your experience as juicy and lush as we can! A tasty bite of sunny Mediterranean in the North of Europe!

It sure is true for the lovely couple Jerry and Gordana who run Verde Basilico...If you’re ever looking for a nice living room restaurant or a nice meal to pick-up and enjoy at home, I really recommend Verde Basilico.
